Welcome to planDisney, Caitlin! I'm excited to see that your magical vacation is just about a week away! If you're staying as a guest at a Disney Resort hotel, you're eligible to book all of your
Lightning Lane Passes today, so let's get right to your question so you can finalize all your plans and selections!
Caitlin,
Disney After Hours at Hollywood Studios feels like a red carpet event! I attended just a few weeks ago, and we loved the short wait times, fun character meet and greets, and the complimentary snacks and drinks along the way that kept us fueled up for all the fun! During these special ticketed events, Lightning Lanes are not offered, but you can
access the park a few hours before closing time to sneak in even more fun! If you only have a party ticket for the day, you will not be able to purchase Lightning Lane passes to use in that timeframe, but if you have a standard theme park ticket that grants you admission into Hollywood Studios in addition to your After Hours ticket, then you can purchase available Lightning Lanes to use during regular park hours.
Caitlin, in my experience, we opted to head to some of the attractions that were not going to be open during After Hours during those regular park hours. Remember that the park closes about 30 minutes before the party time officially begins, so we noticed that the lines started to thin out soon after that time. Also, many guests made their way to see
Fantasmic! at 8:30 PM or 10 PM, so party guests had lighter crowds even in those early hours.
I hope this helps, Caitlin! Don't forget to stop by the
Disney Jr. Play and Dance theatre to say hello and share a dance with some of your favorite Disney pals - they'll even have
Disney PhotoPass photographers there to capture your memories! Have a Mickey ice cream sandwich for me, and if we can help with any other planning questions,
come on back and let us know!
See you real soon,
Alison
