Rebecca,
Thanks for asking your question to planDisney!
There are several wonderful resort hotels in the Deluxe category at Walt Disney World, each with its own unique theme and assortment of features. To find the most current list, you can go to the Walt Disney World website and from the top menu hover over "Places to Stay". From the pop-up menu, simply click on "Deluxe Resort Hotels". and you will get a comprehensive list.
But just to speed things along, let's list them out here, shall we?
- Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge
- Disney's Contemporary Resort
- Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
- Disney's Polynesian Village Resort
- Disney's Beach Club Resort
- Disney's Yacht Club Resort
- Disney's BoardWalk Inn
- Disney's Wilderness Lodge
Now there are also some resorts called
Deluxe Villas. These options are part of the Disney Vacation Club program, and they have some room configurations that rise above the standard hotel room experience you might imagine. There are even multi-bedroom configurations that can accommodate a party of 12! With larger families, these can be a fantastic choice. But don't worry, you don't have to be a member of the program to reserve these rooms, so take a look at them as well. There are Deluxe Villa options tied to the Contemporary, the Grand Floridian, the Polynesian, the Wilderness Lodge, the Animal Kingdom, the BoardWalk Inn, and the Beach Club. In addition to those, there are other stand-alone Deluxe Villa Resorts. They include Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa, Disney's Riviera Resort, and Disney's Old Key West Resort.
So there you have it. Which is best for you? Only you can be sure, but when I help friends out, I suggest that they consider their choice based on location and theme. Which parks are going to be your most frequent destination? After you know that, pick a resort near that given park and select which theme seems to best suit your travel expectations.
Do you want to enjoy an island escape with youngsters who are ready for the excitement of the Magic Kingdom?
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort might be your best bet. Do you have teens that want to relax by the pool before tackling the thrills of Disney's Hollywood Studios? Maybe
Disney's Beach Club Resort is your home in the magic.
Please feel free to
write me back directly if you have any follow-up questions, or want some help in narrowing down all these fantastic choices!
Have a Magical Vacation!Doug
