Hey there, hi there, Julie! You're as welcome as can be here at planDisney!
Before you know it, you'll be arriving at
Disney's All-Star Movies Resort to embark on your pixie-dusted
Walt Disney World adventure. How exciting! From the moment you walk the red carpet into the Resort and get a glimpse of the adorable larger-than-life theming, you will know that you've made it to the Most Magical Place on Earth. Now, let's tie up your loose planning ends so you can sit back, relax, and start your countdown to the fun!
I just spoke with a Cast Member who informed me that a credit card or debit card is required for an
authorization hold for estimated incidental expenses at check-in. While the amount is subject to change, currently, a $100 hold will be placed on your credit or debit card on arrival day. If you choose to charge purchases to your room using a MagicBand+, the charges will be added to your room folio. Once your purchases exceed the first $100 hold, additional incremental holds will be placed on the card, but they won't exceed your balance plus $100. Your total balance will be due on checkout day or on your fifth day, whichever comes first. The good news, however, is that you can use your pre-paid card to settle any balance you have on your room folio! Just stop by the front desk to do so.
In my experience, the balance is charged to the card on file very early in the morning on the fifth day or checkout day, so I suggest stopping at the front desk to settle up the night before. Some of my planDisney pals recommend stopping by the front desk nightly to pay off any charges made. If possible, I also recommend leaving a credit card and not a debit card on file. In my experience, the hold on a credit card is dropped quickly, however, when I leave a debit card on file, while the hold is absolutely refunded, it can take my bank a few days to release my funds back to my account. Nobody wants funds to be tied up on vacation, especially when there are so many Mickey-shaped snacks to be had!
One more thing, Julie! I recommend using the
Online Check-In Service to check in before you arrive. In fact, you can add your credit card and check in on your
My Disney Experience account online or on the app NOW! That way, once your room is ready, you can skip the front desk and go straight there. Service fit for a movie star!
While this may not have been the answer you were hoping for, Julie, I hope it was at least helpful! I am wishing you an unforgettable upcoming vacation. Please feel free to stop by any time with any questions you have.
You've got a friend in me,
Mandy
