Hiya, Angela, and welcome to planDisney! Your visit to
Walt Disney World Resort is coming up soon, so I hope you have your Mickey tees and Minnie ears packed. I keep a backpack stocked with Disney park essentials like MagicBands, rain ponchos, and a phone charger. I want to be ready to roll at a moment's notice! Over the years, I've stayed at hotels on and off Disney property, and I have thoughts to share, so let's dig in!
If I understand correctly, you have an off-site hotel booked for your visit in April, and you're ready to purchase
Theme Park Tickets. You are wondering if switching to a
Disney Resort Hotel and booking a
vacation package would be a better value. My short answer is absolutely! But "value" for me goes beyond price. For a two-day theme park ticket, you wouldn't get a discount on the ticket price by booking a hotel and room package, but you would
gain many perks.
For example, you can secure your room and ticket package with a $200 deposit and pay it off gradually before you arrive. And staying at a Disney Resort Hotel provides complimentary parking and transportation to all
four theme parks and
Disney Springs. In addition, guests at all Disney Resort Hotels get
extra time in the parks every morning, and guests staying at Deluxe Hotels can enjoy Extended Evening Hours at certain parks on designated days. For example, I recently stayed at
Disney's Old Key West Resort and took advantage of after-hours at Magic Kingdom Park and EPCOT. For my family, that is a priceless benefit! And you can't beat staying in the Disney magic. I think the Disney Resorts' service and theming go above and beyond.
Angela, I'd suggest calling
Disney Resort Hotel Reservations to discuss your travel plans and package options with a friendly Cast Member. They can help you choose a vacation package that will work magic for your family.
Please
stop by planDisney anytime, Angela! We love helping guests put together the most fabulous trips imaginable!
Magic awaits,
Elaine
