What hotel would be better for 3 adults and 1 year old, The Contemporary, Grand Floridian, or Art of Animation? It will be our sons 1st birthday and we will only be doing MNSSHP on Halloween and spending the other time at the hotel/Disney Springs.

Hello there, Rachael! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! We appreciate you taking the time to stop by and ask your Walt Disney World Resort question!

You’ve posted quite a tough question! All three of the Disney Resort hotels you’ve named are excellent and have their own unique pros and cons. However, I’ll do my best to outline these for you as succinctly as possible!

Both Disney’s Contemporary Resort and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa are located right across from Magic Kingdom. This means that you and your family would only be a short Monorail or Boat ride away from the magic! This could be particularly helpful on the evening in which you attend Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. In addition, both of these Disney Resort hotels have multiple dining locations, marina access, spa and fitness facilities, and larger Guest rooms compared to the Value resort Guest rooms.

These advantages do not mean you should completely rule out Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, though! The main pool, The Big Blue Pool, is actually the largest resort pool found at Walt Disney World Resort! In addition to their delicious Quick Service dining location and spacious family suite accommodations, this resort will be located on the Disney Skyliner route! Guests will soon be able to travel in style to Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Epcot aboard the Disney Skyliner.

Ultimately, I recommend Guests choose whichever Disney Resort hotel has the ambiance you prefer! My family and I tend to choose resorts such as Disney’s Port Orleans Resort - Riverside or Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort due to the relaxing ambiance and beautiful foliage found at these locations.

I hope this information assists you in making this difficult decision!
