    Hi! We are hoping to come to disneyworld in late Jan/early Feb 2013. Will we be able to go to typhoon lagoon or is it weather dependant?

    Greetings Kate!  Thanks for visiting the Moms Panel with your great question!  My family loves Disney's Typhoon Lagoon for its tropical theming, giant Surf Pool, and Castaway Creek, a relaxing lazy river. According to the Disney Parks Calendar, Disney's Typhoon Lagoon is scheduled to be open in late January and early February 2013. Follow the link I have provided to view the Park Hours for your specific vacation dates. The Disney Parks Calendar reflects that Disney's Typhoon Lagoon will be undergoing a refurbishment beginning Sunday, October 28, 2012 through Saturday, January 5, 2013. I know the weather can be quite unpredictable in January and February; however, the average high temperature in Orlando at that time of year is typically in the low 70s and the average low temperature is usually in the upper 40s. I called Disney directly just know to verify my information for you and the cast member I spoke with confirmed that the water at Disney's water parks is heated year round.
