Hello Julia,
Welcome to planDisney, where real Guests just like you are here to answer your questions about planning a Disney vacation, and lend our best tips, tricks, and advice!
The holidays are extra magical at the
Disneyland Resort! And after more than a year of sacrificing vacations and special events, it seems everyone is looking for some of that magic. Unfortunately for those that didn’t get a chance to book yet,
theme park reservations are almost completely booked for all of this month. As of today, I only see one day, December 14 that has a Park Hopping option available.
At this point, the parks really are booked. There is not a waitlist, or any tricks to score reservations other than to keep checking back. It is always possible someone else will cancel, or more availability could be added. While I so think it is unlikely, it is always possible availability would open up, so I recommend you check a few times daily just in case some pixie dust comes your way.
If you are unable to book theme park reservations, but would still like to spend some time with your friends and aren’t too far from the Disneyland Resort, you could book a
dining reservation together at one of the Disneyland Resort Hotels or in the
Downtown Disney District. There are some wonderful choices and at least it would allow the girls to spend a few hours together. It is also getting a bit late and challenging to book dining reservations, so if you were unable to find a reservation, you could still consider meeting for a few hours of shopping, and then dine at a quick-service location in the Downtown Disney District.
I am sorry this isn’t probably the answer you were hoping for, Julia. But with safety concerns necessitating reservations, and the popularity of the holiday season, things have simply booked up. Perhaps your daughter and her friends could have a non-Disney holiday get-together at home before the holidays if she is unable to make the trip. My mom and I host a small holiday tea for our friends every year and it's always a lot of fun. Maybe it could even have a Disney theme like Alice in Wonderland or Mickey's Christmas Carol.
Wishing you and your daughter a happy holiday season,
- Kate
