Hi - I was hoping to take my son to Tri-Circle D Ranch for horse-back riding, but was disappointed to find out it's ltd to 9yr olds. My son is 8yrs but is over 4ft tall. Would they allow him to ride? Thanks.

    Hi Nancy,

The official policy is that children must be at least nine years old to participate in the trail riding at Fort Wilderness. That being said, I can tell you that they do not check IDs for children. They will take your word for it on how old your child is.

I took my oldest daughter, a mature and experienced rider, on this excursion when we were in a similar situation and she was fine, but your mileage may vary.

Good luck with your planning. Please let us know if you have additional questions.
