Jambo Erika, and welcome to planDisney!
During the week of March 2nd, Animal Kingdom currently opens at 7:30am for
Early Theme Park Entry (for Disney World resort hotel guests) and 8:00am for all guests. Schedules can change, so be sure to
double-check the opening time closer to the date. It’s tight, but as Han Solo says, “never tell me the odds!”
To maximize your park time, I’d recommend getting to Animal Kingdom at least 45 minutes before the park opens, especially if you plan to ride
Flight of Passage (where most “rope dropping” guests will be headed). If you’re skipping Flight of Passage, you may be able to fit in more attractions since most other rides tend to have a shorter wait time.
When you’re putting together your “rope dropping” strategy, note that
not all attractions are open for Early Theme Park Entry (if you’re eligible to take advantage of that perk).
Now let’s talk about getting to breakfast and what time you need to leave the park. You can take the
complimentary bus from Animal Kingdom to
Riviera Resort, where
Topolino’s Terrace is located. I usually budget 60 minutes for travel time when using Disney World Resort Transportation, but Disney officially recommends 90 minutes to be safe. For a potentially faster option, you can use a
Minnie Van or other ride share service.
If you’re hoping for a bit more park time, you can always modify your dining reservation to a later time. Topolino’s Terrace is popular, but I find that more availability usually opens up closer to the date, so keep checking the
My Disney Experience app or
Disney World web site!
I love the relaxing Mediterranean vibe of the Riviera Resort and never leave without grabbing a treat to go! My favorites are the banana bread from
Le Petit Cafe and the
Riviera Signature Cookie from
Primo Piatto.
Wishing you a morning full of fun rides, capped with a delicious breakfast with Mickey and friends!
