Welcome aboard, Jim! Disney Cruise Line really knows how to cater to
families with little ones, so you'll be in great hands!
While there is not in-stateroom babysitting or the availability to use baby monitors, there are lots of options for that much needed nap time for your little ones! Most guests will choose to head back to the stateroom with their little ones for nap time, but if you'd like to stay out exploring the ship, you can easily make advanced reservations for your little one to spend some playtime and nap time in
It's A Small World Nursery, which is an amazing spot for the three and under crowd, complete with a separate nap time room with individual cribs. There is an additional hourly cost in the nursery, but it's a great option!
When my kids were young, we stayed in our stateroom for daytime naps, to either catch a nice rest ourselves, or enjoy some quiet adult time chatting, reading, or enjoying the beautiful scenery out on our verandah while the kids napped just inside the stateroom. A verandah stateroom allows for this separate quiet area!
In the late evenings, if your kids are three and older and in the Oceaneer Club (included in your cruise cost!), they pull out mats so kids who are tired can lay down and rest while watching a fun Disney movie. We've come back from evenings out in the adult district at night to find our kids either sleeping or quietly resting on those cozy mats while the movie plays. Other times, we've found our kiddos wide awake, completely engaged in the amazing activities that are going on late into the night in the clubs.
I hope that helps as you begin to plan this trip! Please stop back with more questions and we're happy to help! Happy planning, Jim!
