Ahoy Lisa!
Thanks so much for writing back! Your question isn't silly at all and actually a very common one! The fabulous crew members go above and beyond to provide exceptional
service to cruise Guests so you will definitely want to tip them to show
your appreciation. On the Disney Cruise Line website there is a very helpful page that outlines how
gratuities work when you travel on the high seas. There are several crew members that you come into contact with daily including your stateroom host/hostess, dining server, assistant server and head waiter. When you look at the gratuity suggestions these are the four that you will tip on the last evening with the suggested guidelines offered by Disney Cruise Line. The dollar amounts are per person and per cruise and will be charged to your stateroom account at the beginning of your sailing unless you direct Guest Services otherwise. By the last night of your sailing, pre-paid gratuity vouchers and labeled envelopes will be delivered to your stateroom. You will present these vouchers and envelopes on the final evening of your cruise.
If you plan on dining at Palo, there will be a place to add an additional tip when your server brings you the bill. Drinks ordered from bar service automatically have a 15% tip added in. You will need some cash for tipping room service. Room service is free, and I recommend bringing along some small bills for this service.
I hope my answer is helpful, Lisa. Please let me know if you think of anything else!
