Hi Sharon, thanks for bringing us your question today. Staying at a deluxe Walt Disney World Resort is a real highlight of our family trips, so I understand wanting to make the right choice.
If you're looking for calm and zen after busy Park days, I highly recommend
Disney's Old Key West Resort. I always feel transported to another space entirely at these Resorts. I feel the larger space available as a DVC Resort also helps. Our kids love the activities on offer at the
Conch Flats Community Hall too. You do not need to be a DVC member to stay at these Resorts. Disney's Old Key West is just a short drive from the Parks, but you tend not to find the frequent visitors you may find at Monorail Resorts such as Disney's Polynesian Resort. This helps the atmosphere feel more relaxed, in my opinion. All choices at Walt Disney World are wise ones, but you may find it helpful to watch some
videos created by planDisney that walk through the different Resort options available.
There are many quieter places to take some time in the Parks, too. EPCOT (my beloved Park) deserves a special mention with calm spots in the Pavillions throughout the World Showcase, and the
Seas with Nemo & Friends aquarium is soothing for the soul. If certain items provide comfort at home, such as noise-canceling headphones or therapy putty, please feel free to bring what works for your child. We have always found sticking (as much as possible) to a similar routine as at home helpful, too.
Sharon, I hope this information helps you out today and that you enjoy a magical time at Walt Disney World. Always remember, YOU are the magic!
Louise
