We’re hoping to book a room at the Contemporary for Spring Break and enjoy the pools. However, we read that the main pool will be closed for refurbishment. Would we be allowed to use the pools at other resorts because of this? Maybe Poly or GF nearby?

    Hi Julie!

    Welcome to planDisney!

Looking at the pool closures across Disney World resorts, I’m happy to report that the Contemporary currently has no pool closures. According to the recent announcement, the Bay Cove Pool at Bay Lake Tower will be closed for refurbishment at this time in 2026, but you should be good to go this year!

It’s good to note that “pool hopping” is not currently allowed at Disney World. But resort guests get an exciting perk in 2025

When staying at a Disney World resort, you’ll get free water park tickets on your arrival date. So, if pool time is a priority, I highly recommend trying to plan an early arrival time on the first day of your trip. That way, you can head over to the water park for some extra water fun!

In April, Blizzard Beach will be celebrating its 30th anniversary, so there are all sorts of activities going on there – from dance parties to family-friendly games (complete with prizes!) to special anniversary food and beverage items. It’s definitely worth the trip over there!

While you won’t be able to hop over to the pool at the Polynesian or Grand Floridian, you can still check out both of those resorts during your stay. Being a quick Monorail ride away will make it easy! I’ve had my eye on eating at the new Wailulu Bar & Grill at the Polynesian…it’s on my must-do list next trip!

I hope you enjoy your spring break! Let us know if you have any other questions!
