We are hoping to take the Alaskan Cruise in May 2013. One of the main excursions we want to do is the dog sled tour. Our son will be 5. Do people generally take kids on all excursions, and if not, is there childcare available for outings such as these?

    Hi Heather!
Welcome to the Moms Panel!  An Alaskan voyage on Disney Cruise Line will be an experience of a lifetime, and the magical memories your family will create will be absolutely priceless! With so many fabulous shore excursions offered in Alaska, you may choose to bring him along on the ones that interest him the most.
If you feel like your son would enjoy staying on the ship, I would definitely recommend venturing ashore without him. One reason that Disney Cruise Line is the best choice for families is the amazing youth programming. The Oceaneer Club & Lab will be open for plenty of fun while you are ashore having your own good time.  Rest assured he will be safe and well taken care of whenever he is checked-in to the youth spaces.
I hope my suggestions help with your cruise plans, Heather!  It is my pleasure to assist you, and please keep me posted if more questions come up!
    Have a "Wonder"ful day!
