Lazy River at Typhoon Lagoon

    Hi. Hope you are well. We are going to Disney World in April and was wondering if we need to purchase water shoes for the water parks. Thank for your help.

    I hope you're ready for a "splashin'" good time at Walt Disney World Resort! Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park is scheduled to open on March 17, 2024, and with that comes lots of fun under the sun! Typhoon Lagoon is the first thing on my bucket list for my next visit!

    Wearing water shoes at the water parks is a personal choice. If walking barefoot isn't something that you feel comfortable with, you absolutely can wear water shoes. Just make sure they are traditional-style water shoes, not flip-flops, as these are not permitted on the water slides. 

    Looking to enhance your day at Typhoon Lagoon? Consider renting an umbrella, which comes with two beach chairs, two lounge chairs, a drink table, and towels, making it the perfect meeting spot for your family. If you have a large party, consider renting a Beachcomber Shack for your magical day under the sun. Finally, for a sweet treat, stop by Happy Landings Ice Cream and enjoy a Sand Pail Sundae with your family.
