We are going to Hollywood Studios on Thursday, August 22nd and I want to do a meet and greet with Chewbacca. Do they still do that now that Galaxy' Edge is going to open this week?

Hi there, Esti! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Thanks so much for stopping by and allowing us to help you plan your vacation to Walt Disney World Resort!

It is true! Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge will be opening in the very near future at Disney's Hollywood Studios! Beginning August 29th, Guests will be able to enter the planet of Batuu and explore the Black Spire Outpost. Once there, Guests can taste some of the local eats, interact with a variety of characters, and experience their very own Star Wars adventure!

There will be a bit of shift in some of the previously available Star Wars experiences inside Disney's Hollywood Studios but there has been an effort to make this as minimal as possible! Currently, it seems as though Chewbacca will be remaining inside Star Wars Launch Bay for the next few weeks. This means that your family should have no problem meeting everyone's favorite Wookie during your upcoming trip!

While visiting Star Wars Launch Bay, be sure to allow time to explore the area! There are many different movie props, concept art, costumes, and more for Star Wars fans to enjoy. In addition, you never know who you'll run into when visiting Star Wars Launch Bay so be sure to keep your eyes peeled!

I hope this information will assist you as you plan for your vacation to Walt Disney World Resort!
