    If I have Hollywood Studios evening extra magic hours, do I still need a boarding pass for Rise of the Resistance?

    Hi Alicia!  Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

    I'm sure you are excited about your opportunity to experience Walt Disney World Resort's new blockbuster attraction, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.  I am glad to hear you are already planning to take advantage of Extra Magic Hours, where Guests staying at Disney Resort Hotels or other select hotels may enjoy extra time in the parks.  Extra Magic Hours are a great way to extend your day and to enjoy many popular attractions with shorter wait times.

    Guests who would like to experience Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance will need to join a virtual queue and will be assigned to a Boarding Group.  The Boarding Group process begins at the scheduled park opening time.  Guests may join a Boarding Group through the My Disney Experience mobile app and will receive a notification when their Boarding Group is called to experience the attraction.

    At this time, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is not available during Extra Magic Hours.  All Guests who would like to experience this attraction will need to join a Boarding Group.  I recommend planning to arrive at Disney's Hollywood Studios in enough time to go through security screening and have entered the park gates by the scheduled park opening time.  Boarding Groups fill quickly, and Guests who arrive after the scheduled park opening time may find that all Boarding Groups have already been distributed for the day.

    Many other popular attractions will be available to enjoy during evening Extra Magic Hours at Disney's Hollywood Studios, including Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, Slinky Dog Dash, Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, and more.
