On a Hollywood Studios day which area/ride would be best to go to first so you can beat the crowds when some people in the party have never been to Toy Story Land or A Galaxy’s Edge?

Hi there, Walter! Welcome to planDisney! We appreciate you taking the time to stop by and asking your most magical Walt Disney World Resort vacation question!

There are so many new and exciting adventures to experience at Disney’s Hollywood Studios! The newest land, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, invites Guests to the distant planet of Batuu where the Black Spire Outpost is located. Here, you can experience everything from the local cuisine all the way to piloting the Millennium
Falcon on Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run! At the equally engaging Toy Story Land, Guests of all ages are invited to Andy’s backyard for some fun with all of your favorite toys!

This is a pretty difficult decision even for someone that has visited both areas several times! Both Toy Story Land and Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge are incredibly popular and can fill up fairly quickly as a result. The two most popular attractions in both of these areas are most likely going to be Slinky Dog Dash and Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run. The wait times for both of these attractions tend to be the longest so they will likely be the ones you want to experience first.

The attraction that I would consider a “must-do”, though, is Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance! This attraction is unique in that it utilizes a virtual queue and requires Guests to obtain a boarding pass. You may do so by downloading the My Disney Experience app onto your smartphone and selecting the “Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance Virtual Queue” during boarding pass distribution times.

Ultimately, though, I would make your decision on which attraction to experience first based on your party’s preferences! If you have multiple younger Guests in your party that may enjoy Toy Story Land, this may be your best first stop of the day. If you have Guests that are massive Star Wars fans and love thrilling attractions, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge should be how you begin your morning. Either way, you are certainly in for a day filled with making magical memories!

I hope this information assists you in planning for your Walt Disney World Resort vacation! Please let us know if we can answer any additional questions for you!
