Hiya, Is it possible for members of the European Union to purchase Disney timeshares? Thanks, Triona

Hello there, Triona! Thanks so much for visiting planDisney from across the pond. I'm pleased as could be to meet you, and like Judy Hopps I'm here to investigate all of the ins and outs of an international Disney Vacation Club membership for you!

I often tell folks that our decision to join DVC was one that we have never regretted! In nearly a decade as Members, we've enjoyed all sorts of magical adventures, from Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa to the Disney "Beach Resorts" of Hilton Head Island and Vero Beach to nearly every location at Walt Disney World Resort. The ability to use our Vacation Points flexibly has been really great for our family. Some years we've taken shorter trips and then banked points into the next Use Year so we could use those combined points to book a longer trip or a larger Villa. On other occasions we've planned ahead for a lengthy vacation and borrowed points from the next Use Year--this also lets you work with a larger total of points to reserve a dream vacation!

Triona, I spoke with some of the very helpful DVC Guides about your question. They shared with me that residents of certain areas of the European Union may purchase a Membership, but that it depends on your exact address. Residents of Northern Ireland may currently purchase a cash Membership (they cannot finance the purchase unless they are on Disney property), but potential Members from the Republic of Ireland where you're located need to speak directly to a Guide to check what's possible for you.

Because DVC represents a significant investment for most people, I highly recommend spending some time on the website learning about all the things you can do with your Membership. You can also schedule a virtual meeting or an on-demand webinar and speak to a Guide who can discuss all of the ins and outs of Membership and let you know about any special incentives available. Beyond this, there are many helpful online forums made up of very enthusiastic Members that can be a great source of information as you're deciding whether to purchase.

I hope this information is helpful as you're considering joining the coolest club around, Triona! Thanks again for visiting planDisney, and please reach out anytime if I can assist with any other questions about all things DVC.

    Stay Magical!
