Hey there Rochelle, welcome back to planDisney!
It's so great to connect with fellow Canadians as they prepare for their escape from the wintery weather up north to bask in the Floridian sun at Walt Disney World Resort, and I'm always down to help anyone looking for a great nighttime strategy at the theme parks. In fact, there's a very special kind of planDisney After Dark crowd that knows exactly when to pop in line for that last ride of the day or even spot the glowing surroundings at night as you roam
Pandora - The World of Avatar.
The most important factor in being able to spot this
beautiful bioluminescence is whether
Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park will be open, as there are certain times of the year when the
posted closing hours may be a bit too early to be able to witness these after the sun sets. However, if you aim for the late autumn or winter months when the days are shorter, we often experience a greater chance of being able to take photos and explore a land under the cover of darkness!
I would recommend making your
Yak & Yeti Restaurant dining reservation earlier; the last time that my husband and I snagged a late reservation we departed into a nearly empty theme park but were directly escorted to the exit along with the last few remaining guests and diners. (During my in-park research for planDisney, I’ve also personally observed savvy sojourners waiting to hop into
Avatar Flight of Passage as late as possible prior to closing time in order to take advantage of being able to remain in the land as late as possible to glimpse everything lit up with fewer fellow guests around!)
Come back again soon
for any other tips, tricks or theme park strategies here at planDisney - I'm always happy to help out any other adventurous Disney Canucks!
I wish you all the best on your quest to seek alien lands aglow on your next Disney adventure!
