Welcome to planDisney, Cathy!
Thanks for swimming by!
You’ve asked a great question, as my family loves making a splash at our Disney Resort hotel pools. There are so many
great reasons to stay at a Disney Resort hotel, from
Early Theme Park Entry to the magical theming, and of course, another being the absolutely
fin-tastic pools!
Cathy, pack your bathing suit because you’ll be happy to know that most Disney Resort hotels offer Guests complimentary towels at the pools, with the exception of Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort, for which you'll need to bring your own towels. For the Resort hotels that do provide complimentary towels at the pools, you'll find they are usually neatly stacked in bins around the pool areas, and you’ll also find boxes to drop used towels at once you’re done. Another thing I love about Disney Resort hotels is that they offer complimentary life jackets in adult and child sizes, in case anyone in your party should need them.
You can absolutely use your Disney Resort pool the morning you check in, even if your room isn’t ready yet. In fact, my family loves making the most of our first Disney day, and we usually arrive bright and early!
Bell Services is happy to store your luggage for you while your room is being prepared; just be sure to take your swim bag with bathing suits and sunscreen, and anything else you may need while you swim. There are bathroom facilities you can use by the pool to change into your bathing suits.
You’ll find an outdoor shower at your Resort pool, but did you know that most Disney Resort hotels also offer an indoor private shower for Guests to use? These are usually located near the larger pools, and I recommend scouting one out prior in case you’d like to use it. I’ve seen them at many of the Value, Moderate, and Deluxe Resort hotels. The private showers come stocked with shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and fresh towels and are excellent in case you’re waiting for your room to be ready or are using the pool the day you’ve checked out of your room.
Wishing you an enchanting visit, Cathy!
