Hi, We’ll be staying at the Grand Californian in August and will be renting a car from Enterprise at LAX. I see there is an enterprise drop off at the Pixar Place Hotel. Will we be allowed into there to drop the car off before we check into the Grand?

Hello, Hannah! Welcome to planDisney. You’re firing on all planning cylinders! It’s like if you stopped Sally in the middle of her explanation of how great Route 66 was and said, “What if I could make great time AND have a great time?” That’s where you’re at right now.

LAX to Disneyland Resort is about 40 miles, but it might as well be on the other side of Cadillac Range. Having your own vehicle and being able to navigate the freeways however you find is best for the current traffic situation is the best option. If you’re ever interested in why traffic is so bad in Southern California, just watch Who Framed Roger Rabbit. It’s all in there. The best part, though, is that you absolutely found the trick. You broke the code. The tipped the tip!

Yes, there is a drop-off option at Pixar Place Hotel for Enterprise Rent-A-Car, and it couldn’t be easier to navigate. I’d pull into the driveway at the Disney Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, drop the bags and any family members that don’t want to walk back, pull out of the hotel and turn left onto Disneyland Drive. Drive a whopping .2 miles and turn right into the valet turnaround for Pixar Place. You can tell one of the valet attendants that you’re returning a rental car, and they’ll direct you to the best place to park while you complete the return; there are a few spaces for this purpose, but they sometimes fill up. The Enterprise desk is located on the second floor between the elevators and the stairs. This location does not allow after-hours drop-off, so be sure to check the hours and only return your keys to the Enterprise representative on duty. After a quick jaunt back to the Grand Californian, you’re ready to start the magic.

Hannah, you’re set for an awesome trip. I’m not sure how long your stay is, but Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort begins August 21st. If you’re here that long, be sure to see how Cars Land is transformed into the spookiest little town in Carburetor County. The decorations are amazing, and you might be able to get a picture with Lightning McQueen or Mater in their Halloween costumes. If you’re set to leave before the 21st, I’d book more days. I experienced the Halloween treats last year - they’re worth staying a few extra days. Check out Disney Parks Blog for all the exciting treats, events, and merch to celebrate Halloween as you get closer to your trip!

If you have more questions, bring them to us at planDisney. We’ll be here, floating like a Cadillac, and stinging like a Beemer.

    Kachow,

    Corey
