Starting on October 28, 2026, I’ll be staying at the Sonesta Anaheim area hotel. What is the best transportation to and from Disneyland?

Hello there, Dustin. Welcome to planDisney! What a great location! Also, Sonesta is a Disneyland Good Neighbor Hotel, which means you can purchase your park tickets with your room, and you can trust the hotel meets the cleanliness and guest service standards set by Disney! Let’s see what your options are for getting to the Disneyland Resort.

Unfortunately, the hotel does not provide a shuttle to the parks. Your options are to walk the 1.6 miles, walk a short distance to a bus stop to take an OCTA bus, or use your rideshare app to get picked up right at your hotel and taken to the drop-off area on Harbor Blvd.

The walk would take about 35 minutes. There are clear sidewalks and crosswalk signals at corners, so it should be a fairly safe walk. You can start by walking toward Katella, then head west until you reach the first intersection, Anaheim Blvd. Turn right and go about a block, turn left on Disney Way, walk about two blocks, turn right on Harbor, and you’ll be able to see the path to the Esplanade. To take the bus, you’ll leave your hotel and head towards Katella. Cross the street and find the bus stop just past Anaheim Blvd. You can take the 83, 553, 43, or 50 bus heading West, and you’ll be at the front of the park before you know it. The trip should cost you about $2 (though prices are subject to change).

Both of these options will work, though neither of them will be very fast or convenient. The fast and convenient option would be to use a rideshare. I can’t say how much that will cost, but I guess that the convenience will be worth it. Be sure to select the pickup and drop-off area on Harbor Blvd. for the location you want to be dropped off or picked up.

Dustin, I hope your trip from the hotel to the front gate of the parks goes smoothly. October is a beautiful time of year. I hope you’re celebrating Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort by attending Oogie Boogie Bash! It’s my favorite Disney party to attend. In addition to the awesome treat trails, spooky entertainment, and special appearances from rare Disney villains, enjoying all the other guests that dress up is my favorite part. As you get closer to your trip, Disney Parks Blog is sure to publish all the information you'll need to find all the amazing treats, entertainment, and merch you'll need during your trip.

If you have any other planning questions, head back to planDisney and ask away.

I hope you have a magical day.

    Corey
