The Disney Parks Moms Panel team sincerely appreciates your kind words, Janice! It sounds like you're ready to
fall into the magic again soon!
Fall at Walt Disney World Resort is BOO-tiful! Although each theme park celebrates autumn and has festive decorations up,
Magic Kingdom Park looks the most SPOOK-tacular! The shops lining Main Street, U.S.A. are draped with orange and yellow bunting and dozens of jack-o'-lanterns. Here's some fun trivia: Look carefully at these pumpkins as they all match the theme of the merchandise stores and restaurants that they are sitting above. A few years ago, I snapped some pictures of the Lady and the Tramp jack-o'-lanterns, iconically slurping their spaghetti above
Tony's Town Square Restaurant.
Typically, the fall decor goes up in mid-August, right before the first
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party of the season. Recently, the difficult decision was made to cancel this year's annual event since stage shows, parades, and fireworks are unable to occur in this new, unprecedented environment. Sadly, due to social distancing measures, no Trick-or-Treat opportunities will be offered either in 2020. I spoke with a couple of Cast Members at Guest Services today, and while neither could confirm when the park will be decorated for Halloween, we have been told that "Guests visiting Magic Kingdom Park will still be able to enjoy seasonal décor and themed food and beverages." I feel optimistic that you'll be able to experience these things during your trip next month. Keep checking the
Disney Parks Blog for up to date information!
One thing that will certainly be happening is the
Taste of EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival! The 2020 foodie festival debuted on July 15, and it will continue through the fall, offering over 20 signature
global marketplaces. This is the place you'll find me haunting on Halloween this yEAR!
So, Janice, get ready to eat, drink, and be scary!
Bone appetit!
