Hi, Daniel! Thanks for visiting us here on the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
My family recently stayed at Disney's Art of Animation Resort in a
Little Mermaid Standard Room in December. My 7-year-old daughter enjoyed the "under the sea" decor in our room, but I think that your boys may have more fun staying in a themed
Pirate Room at
Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort. Of course, upgrading from a Value to a Moderate category resort will mean having to pay a higher rate per night. You can use the highlighted hyperlink to check on rates and see if a Pirate Room would fit your budget. There is currently a
Walt Disney World Resort Special Offer for discounted resort stays through June 14, 2013.
The main difference between a Little Mermaid Room and a Pirate Room (besides the theme) is that you'll have a slightly larger room at Caribbean Beach, including two sinks in the bathroom vanity. However, both the Little Mermaid and the Pirate Rooms feature 2 double beds and sleep up to 4 guests. The other differences will be in the amenities offered at these two resorts. The Landscape of Flavors food court at Art of Animation is outstanding. At Caribbean Beach, on the other hand, in addition to a food court you'll have access to
Shutters at Old Port Royale, a table-service restaurant serving dinner only. Both resorts offer unique themed pool complexes.
I hope this helps! Please don't hesitate to write back if I can assist you further. Wishing you a
magical vacation!
