Ahoy, Tania!
You have chosen an amazing sailing for the summer of '17! My family was fortunate enough to experience
Alaska with Disney last summer, and it was an incredible journey! The next year will be an exciting time as you count down the days and plan for your adventure to the Last Frontier! On your particular
Alaskan sailing, you'll enjoy two sea days, a day cruising through Tracy Arm and three port days! The first and last days are sea days, which are great because they allow you to enjoy all the Disney Wonder has to offer and the stunning scenery of the inside passage. The ship will not dock in Tracy Arm, but the Captain will navigate the Disney Wonder to the gorgeous Sawyer Glacier. It's a day to spend on deck because you don't want to miss any of the sights, wildlife or hearing the Naturalist's commentary over the ship's speakers! On the fourth day of your cruise (Thursday), the ship will dock in Skagway. The ship will be operational while in port, so returning to the ship for meals is always an option. (Many Guests do choose to eat in port to enjoy some local cuisine.) On Friday, the Wonder will be in the state capital, Juneau and will be in Ketchikan on Saturday. While in Skagway and Juneau, my family chose to eat in port because we were not ready to head back to the ship at lunchtime. In Ketchikan, we did return to the ship because we had a break between our morning and afternoon Port Adventures. The ship is docked closest to Ketchikan, so this made it very easy. It's not as close in Skagway and Juneau.
I'm so excited for your family to experience a magical voyage to Alaska, Tania! Please keep us posted if you have any other questions!
