Hi: We are new annual pass holders and this trip are staying offsite. We have reservation at Chef Mickey. Will parking be free at the Contemporary due to restaurant reservation? Also, can we jump on the monorail after brunch and go to Magic Kingdom?

Hi, Sue! Thanks for bringing another question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

Welcome to the Walt Disney World Resort Annual Passholder Family! There are so many amazing benefits of being an Annual Passholder, and I just know you’ll love them all.

As a Guest with a confirmed dining reservation at Chef Mickey’s, you will be able to enjoy complimentary self-parking at Disney’s Contemporary Resort during your meal. In my experience, each Walt Disney World Resort Parking Cast Member has told us we have up to two hours to park while we dine. In some cases (such as Disney's Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort), we’ve had up to three hours.

Of course, priority for parking at any Walt Disney World Resort hotel goes to registered Guests, followed by those with confirmed dining reservations. Resort hotel parking can definitely be more crowded during the summer and holiday months, so that’s when you’ll most likely find those time limits placed on parking with a dining reservation. If parking is limited on the day of your arrival, you have a couple of options.

Depending on the time of your dining reservation, it might be easiest to go ahead and park at the Transportation and Ticket Center/ Magic Kingdom parking lot before your meal. From the Transportation and Ticket Center you can take the Resort monorail to Disney’s Contemporary Resort. (It will be the fourth stop.) Then after you’re finished with your meal you can head straight to Magic Kingdom Park. (If it’s an option for your family, it’s typically quicker to walk to Magic Kingdom’s main entrance than it is to take the monorail from Disney's Contemporary Resort.) Another option would be to enjoy your meal and then move your car to the Transportation and Ticket Center’s parking lot where it can remain for the rest of the day. Depending on the type of Annual Pass you have, complimentary Theme Park parking may be one of the benefits! Check the Annual Passholder Benefits Guide for more information.

Hopefully one of these options will work for you and your family, Sue. Enjoy your visit to Chef Mickey's and Magic Kingdom Park; please tell Mickey and the gang I said “hi!”
