Ahoy, Wendy!
How exciting that you are planning your first Disney Cruise Line vacation! You are doing a great job of thinking ahead.
Never fear, you should have no trouble securing tickets for the Princess Party. Since it is limited to one set of tickets per stateroom, you should be able to easily get the tickets, even though you will arrive to Port Canaveral a little bit later. You will definitely want to head to Guest Services soon after you board the ship.
Since this is your first Disney cruise, I thought I would pass along a few of my favorite tips for first timers as well.
1. You can't do everything, and it is ok! Choose the things onboard that you REALLY want to do, and know that it is all right to skip things.
2. When you fall in love with cruising on DCL, book your next cruise while onboard to enjoy a 10% savings and onboard credit on most future cruises.
3. Order room service, it's free! (Just don't forget to tip your server!) I had no idea I could order a Mickey Premium Ice Cream Bar at midnight until my THIRD cruise!
4. Take every photo that you come across. You never know which photo will be the best one of your family, and its nice to have LOTS to choose from! (And, I always preorder the photo package to save 15%...see the
Gifts and Amenities section on the Disney Cruise Line website to order.
5. Be sure to take some adult time. One of my favorites is brunch at Palo, an
adult-exclusive restaurant on all of the Disney ships.
I hope you have a fantastic first cruise! Please come back and visit the Disney Parks Moms Panel with more questions as they arise.
Happy Cruising, Tracy V
