Bright suns Ilona! Thanks for docking with us here at planDisney.
Yes, by all means, bring your droid friend with you to
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. That's definitely part of the fun, no matter how long ago you built your sidekick at the
Droid Depot. And maybe your droid will run into R2-D2 the way we did on our last visit to Batuu. Your droid would be telling every appliance back on your home planet. Either way, don't leave it behind!
I'd suggest using a backpack to transport your droid. Either one that has some good padding or one you can make a little more secure with some minimal packaging. The good news is they're pretty sturdy: Our droids have survived some rough play by two preschool boys, so if you keep your droid cozy in the backpack as a carry-on in the plane, I think it would make it just fine to your final destination. You won't be making the jump to hyperspace, after all.
Plus, once you're in the parks, the backpack will come in handy: I like being able to stow away my droid friend on attractions like
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. For this reason, some people like to use clear backpacks for their droids, so they're visible while you're running around, enjoying the parks. There might be the perfect thing available on
shopDisney too! Just be sure to check the dimensions to be sure it'll be the right fit for your sidekick.
While you're on planet, refuel with a
Cold Brew Black Caf from Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo, and then grab a spot to wait for your favorite Characters to wander by. You never know who you'll see!
May the Force be with you.
