Hi!Thanks In advance! I have the magic your way pkg with dining upgrade I know the gratuity is not included what is average gratuity for a party of 4?I have rsvp for akershus, chef mickeys, hollywood & vine, cystal palace,1900 prk fare This is our 1 wdw.

Hi Priscilla! How exciting to be planning your family's first Walt Disney World vacation! You're going to have so much fun! You've planned lots of great character meals, and you're going to love using your Dining Plan table-service credits to pay for them! You're right that the Dining Plan doesn't include gratuity, so you'll need to budget enough vacation spending money to cover the tips for your servers. You'll receive a bill at the end of your meal that will show the cost of any items not covered by your Dining Plan, such as alcoholic beverages, and the amount of an 18 and 20 percent gratuity, but the amount of tip to leave is up to you. In general, a dinner at a Disney character buffet costs roughly $35 for adults and $17 for children, so you could use those figures to estimate what your meal would cost, and then calculate the amount of a 15 to 20 percent gratuity. You're probably better at math than me, but I'd estimate tips of at least $16 to $22 per meal for a family of two adults and two children. Of course, prices vary (for instance, dinner at Akershus costs about $10 more per person than the other buffets), but these figures should help give you a rough idea of the gratuity.

Wishing you a magical first vacation to Disney World! Come visit us again at the Moms Panel if you have more questions! We'd love to help!
