Hi Carol,
Welcome to planDisney! I am excited to see that you will be visiting Disney World soon. Disney World offers so many options for guests with disabilities to make your visit as accessible as possible. You will be happy to know that ECVs, mobility scooters, can navigate almost every queue, restaurant, and theme park area at Disney World.
You can
rent ECVs directly from Disney World but these will only be available for use while in the theme parks or at Disney Springs. As you mentioned, if you need to have an ECV on transportation between theme parks and at your Disney Resort hotel, then the best option is to rent from a third party that will deliver to your resort. Disney World's featured provider of ECV rentals is
ScooterBug. They are the only company that can deliver to your Disney Resort hotel and drop off or pick up your scooter without you present. They will work directly with Bell Services at your hotel to make sure your ECV is ready and waiting for you when you arrive.
I also recommend checking out the
Services for Guests with Mobility Disabilities to help you prepare for navigating the theme parks in an ECV. This guide will help you prepare for which rides and attractions will require transfers from your ECV to enjoy them. Since you are staying at the
All-Star Music Resort, you will likely be taking bus transportation during most of your vacation. The buses are super easy to use with an ECV and are a convenient way to get to and from the theme parks each day.
If you have not already, I would make sure that there is a note on your reservation that you will be traveling with an ECV or that you have secured an
Accessible Room so there is enough space for your ECV to roll in and charge each evening.
Happy Planning,
Jenna
