Hi Planning way ahead for a Dec 2015 trip. First time for my to be 8-year old son and probably won't return for at least 5 years. What are the major pros/cons for the moderate resorts, except the wilderness? Had wanted to stay deluxe, but sticker shock.

Hi, Tiffany!  There really aren't major cons with staying at a moderate resort.  You will find food courts and a table service restaurant at the moderate resorts, and they each have great pool areas, with fun things for children to do and places for adults to relax.  Some deluxe resorts are on the monorail, which may make them a little more convenient to the Magic Kingdom and EPCOT, but even those resorts use other types of transportation - like buses or boats - to get to other theme parks.  That would be the same as the moderate resorts.

You do get more room in the deluxe resort rooms, so you could probably spread out a little bit, and you'll find at least a couple of table service dining options at the deluxe resorts.  There is also usually an in room dining option at a deluxe resort.  Some of the deluxe resorts have spa facilities, and you may find more shopping options in a deluxe resort.

I hope this helps you make your decision!  If you are looking for a moderately priced resort with a more deluxe feel, I love Coronado Springs.  I think the rooms there are a bit more comfortable in terms of space, and it just feels more like a deluxe resort to me.

    Happy planning!
