Hi!Our first cruise is on Disney Magic is March 1/2013.On the formal night of dining I was wondering if my husband is able to wear a pair of dress shorts or are dress pants required? Also do we have to pre-book activities for Castaway Cay?If so how do we?

    Ahoy Dawna!
Welcome to the Moms Panel and congratulations on your first magical sailing!  Disney Cruise Line suggests no shorts in the main dining room so I do recommend your husband wear his dress pants to dinner if at all possible. I can usually get my husband to dress-up for dinner and then he heads straight to our stateroom to change back to shorts for the rest of the evening events!
You are going to love your stop on Disney's private island, Castaway Cay!  This island paradise is my favorite port of call to visit, and I'm sure you will have a fabulous visit there in March!  Some of the port adventures do need to be booked online because they often sell out. If you are thinking about  parasailing, Castaway Ray's Stingray Adventure, the Watercraft Ski Adventure, or the Walking and Kayak Nature Adventure, I would definitely booking as soon as a possible.  You can book online by logging-in to your cruise reservation and clicking on "My Cruise Activities" in the Planning Center.  When you see your cruise itinerary, just click on your Castaway Cay day to add activities.  Snorkel equipment, float/tube rentals. Castaway Getaway Package and bike rentals are fine to book onboard or once your arrive on the island.
I hope my answers help, Dawna!  Please keep me posted if you think of anything else!
    Have a magical day!
