Hi!Need to make ADR in 11 days for April '11 trip!Trying to decide where to eat at DS for dinner.Want to see Fantasmic but not sure about Fantas Pkg.Have Dining Plan. Kids are 5,7,9. Which restaurant is best option and is Fantas. Pkg worth it? Thanks!!

Hi, Heather!  With kids, you might want to check out Hollywood and Vine and book the Fantasmic Package.  I love not having to line up so early to get a seat at the incredibly popular Fantasmic!  Some guests line up as early as 90 minutes before the show, but with the package, you can usually walk right into the theatre and grab a seat about a half hour before the show starts.  I think it's awesome with young children!

Hollywood and Vine is a buffet, and you'll find characters there at lunch time that might appeal to your kids.  On the dining plan, Hollywood and Vine is one table service credit, and that includes the Fantasmic! package, so it's really a good deal if you are on the dining plan.

Another nice option on the plan for kids is Mama Melrose.  The food there is very kid friendly and familiar, You'll find pizza and pasta on the kids menus, and some really delicious Italian specialties for the adults.

The only other restaurant that participates in the Fantasmic! package is the Brown Derby.  The food there is very good, but it is not necessarily a kid friendly option.  Children are certainly welcome, and I always find ways to entertain my girls, but there's nothing out of the ordinary here for kids.

If you opt not to go with the package, the 50s Prime Time Cafe is great fun for all ages, and it's one of my favorite Disney's Hollywood Studios restaurants.  The kids will also get a kick out of the Sci Fi Dine In, but the food here is mostly burgers and sandwiches.

    Have a great vacation!
