Hi! My mom and I are planning on visiting WDW next year. We will be celebrating her retiring and me graduating. This is also her first time visiting the WDW resort and I heard that you could have latex balloons put in your room. Is this still a thing?

Hey there, Christina thank you for stopping by with this important planning question. This sounds like a special trip and you had me at "her first time visiting." Let's get started on all the special ways to celebrate her.

First-time visitors are some of the most important guests of the day. In fact, Disney has pins specifically made for your mother's first visit. Find Cast Member at most locations and they can locate you a pin to commemorate these joyous occasions. Wearing this "1st Visit" pin will get her recognized by and welcomed to Walt Disney World the entire time she is wearing it. Best part is they are free! You and the rest of your party can get pins as well since you will be celebrating her retirement and your graduation. Ask that same person for "celebrating pins." She is going to love being the center of attention. Well at least I know I would love it.

There are so many different ways to celebrate and your room is definitely one of them. With In-Room Floral and Gifts you can decorate your room with over 10 options. I did not see latex balloons, but I did see mylar balloon options. There were also some floral options and combinations of both. Another really popular option for celebrations is having a cake delivered to one of the restaurants where you will be dining. Amorette's Patisserie is a French-style bakery that visit each time I am visiting. For me it's always bringing home some macarons, for you folks it would be one of the Signature cakes that serves up to 12-15 people. If your group is smaller there is for 8-10 guests you can order a Disney character inspired dome cake. These should be pre-ordered from 30 days to 48 hours ahead of the date your cake is needed. You may be able to have the cake delivered, but not all locations are available for delivery.

This information should help you plan this magical stay for you and your mother. If you find that you have other questions about this stay come on back to planDisney.com.

    Have a magical day,
