Hi, Looking at booking a cruise in Feb 11-18 this yr. How is the temp and water on ship and ports? Concerned it may be too cold to swim. 7 night Disney Fantasy. The ports of call 1.Tortola, BVI 2.St. Thomas/John, USVI 3.Castaway Cay Thanks In Advance!

Welcome aboard, Chasity! Next month will be a great time to escape from the chilly temperatures in Tennessee to head south for a warm water adventure on the high seas with Captain Mickey and his crew! My family and I love sailing in the winter with Disney. Even when we've sailed in November, December, January, and February, we've enjoyed warm temperatures on our cruises and the water has been very inviting!

My kids would run into the water even when it's cold, but I'm a total wimp when it comes to chilly water, so I promise you that if I got in to swim, it was warm enough! Sure, sometimes it felt a bit cooler, and took me a few minutes to ease in, but once in, especially at Castaway Cay for snorkeling, it was a refreshing and wonderful swim! Did you know that on the ships when the temperature dips below 75 degrees, the pools are heated? That's great for cold water chickens like me!

The average temperatures in the Eastern Caribbean and Bahamas for February are the upper 70's and low 80's. Considering there is snow on the ground in my Ohio yard right now, the upper 70's sound downright summer-like to me! I'm sure you'll be pleasantly surprised at the beautiful temperatures you will experience in February during your cruise, Chasity. Just keep in mind that in the evenings, especially on deck, it feels cooler and can be chilly with the breeze when you're out at sea. I always bring a light sweater or jacket for nights on deck and also for the restaurants and theatre, as I tend to get cold easily.

I hope that helps as you get ready to head out to sea next month! Have a warm and wonderful adventure!
