Hi Stephanie! Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question!
With so many transportation options around the 40 square miles of
Walt Disney World Resort, it's almost like getting from place to place is an attraction in itself! Between the
Disney Skyliner, the monorail, Friendship boats, ferries, busses, and even golf carts, you know you're going to get where you need to go in style. Since transportation around the Resort is complimentary, you'll be able to hop from Park to Resort and back again easily.
Staying at the
Walt Disney World Swan or
Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel is a great choice, because you get so many of the same
benefits of staying at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel! While not all the perks are the same, being a Guest of the Swan or Dolphin means you still get
Early Theme Park Entry AND
Extended Evening Hours at the Parks! This means more time to play with even less crowds.
I personally love staying at either of these Resorts for so many reasons! One reason is that we love the ability to walk straight out of our room in the morning and take a leisurely stroll through
Disney's BoardWalk before we arrive at either
EPCOT or
Disney's Hollywood Studios. The convenience of being able to walk or take a relaxing boat ride to so many places makes this one of the most perfect locations in all of the Resort!
Since the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotels are not Disney Resorts Collection Hotels (they are owned by Marriott), they now use a third-party bussing system. Because of this, transportation to
Magic Kingdom Park now drops off at the Transportation and Ticket Center instead of where the Disney busses drop off at the entrance to Magic Kingdom. This means that the rest of your journey to Magic Kingdom will take place by Monorail or Ferry. I actually think this is a beautiful way to arrive at Magic Kingdom because this area was first designed expecting all Guests to enter in these ways. Knowing that
Cinderella Castle is just around the corner heightens everyone's excitement!
If you've stayed at the Swan or Dolphin Hotels before, you'll find that the rest of your transportation experience is the same. Enjoy your stay and all it has to offer!
