it is with deepest pride and greatest pleasure that we welcome you to planDisney. And now we invite you to relax. Let us pull up a chair as the dining room proudly presents: your dining options!
James, I am so happy you came by to be our Guest at planDisney as you are considering restaurants for your trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth.
For my teenager, the magic of Walt Disney World Resort vacations is the culinary cabaret that is prepared and served with flair. He most looks forward to where we are planning to eat. His absolute favorites are the
Biergarten Restaurant and
'Ohana. But he hasn't always been one to get maximum value from a buffet. Knowing what to expect is helpful to make sure no one is gloomy or complaining while the flatware's entertaining.
Walt Disney World Resort has many
à la carte restaurants, where you are charged for what you order. Options like
The Plaza Restaurant, with its comfy cuisine and view of Cinderella Castle, offer simply magical experiences. We also love
San Angel Inn Restaurante. Immersed in the Mexico pavilion with its view of the boats going on the Gran Fiesta Tour, it is truly the coolest place to dine. And I recently discovered the joy of
Via Napoli Ristorante e Pizzeria. We order pizza every Friday night, so I had not thought about this as a vacation experience... until I tried it. This is not my local pizza place's pizza. It is a taste of Italy in EPCOT.
Walt Disney World also has restaurants with fixed-price menus. These include traditional buffet-style restaurants like the Biergarten. Some restaurants like 'Ohana and
Round Up Rodeo BBQ serve family-style buffets. You are welcome to enjoy as much as you wish in a setting like big family dinners with serving dishes to pass around. You can try the grey stuff (it's delicious!) at
Be Our Guest. This restaurant features a prix-fixe, 3-course menu with French-inspired dishes. And there is my favorite:
character dining. Getting a hug from Chip 'n' Dale after eating my vegetables at
Garden Grill Restaurant is Disney dining perfection! With these, you pay for the number of Guests ages 3 and older, regardless of what - or even if - they eat.
I remember the first time we went to the Biergarten Restaurant, and I watched my then-preschooler eat two hot dog bites, three cheese cubes and a chocolate chip cookie. I just shook my head. But they had the best time dancing in their seats with the polka band. And they insist we go back every single trip. I've adapted to thinking about these as the cost for the family to enjoy the experience rather than the cost per person to eat.
I hope this information helps you, James, decide where to dine with your family on your vacation. If you have any other questions, you've won your own free pass to be our guest at
planDisney. We love the chance to exercise and use our skills.
Yes, indeed, we aim to please!
