Hi, I wanted to know if I could bring a small pop up tent in my luggage for the beach. It is just to shade my niece and I while we lay on the beach.

    Welcome to planDisney, Cindy!

Are you counting down the minutes until your Disney Cruise Line vacation?! It sounds like your bags are almost packed and ready!

I love that you are thinking about a lazy day on the beach. If you are packing a small portable tent designed for a young child, you are good to go. Larger tents and personal beach umbrellas are not permitted, however. On Disney Castaway Cay or Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point, there are lots of umbrellas around the beach and other shaded areas around these gorgeous destinations, but it is a good idea to bring a sun shirt and plenty of sunscreen, both of which are available for purchase on the ship and at the island destinations. One of my favorite souvenirs is my Disney Cruise Line sun shirt and I think of my fabulous vacation every time I wear it. I highly recommend them!

It is always a good idea to review the list of items prohibited on board. We don't want your boarding process to be delayed one minute, so be sure to leave those items at home.

Depending on the age of your niece, check out all the spectacular spaces and activities created just for kids on board a Disney Cruise ship! While your niece is being treated like a princess, the grownups can enjoy being treated like royalty at Senses Spa & Salon or one of the other adult-exclusive places around the ship.

I hope this information helps, Cindy, and that the countdown for your cruise sails by! Thanks for visiting planDisney!

    Wishing you many magical memories,
    Shannon
