Hi Ingerlise!
Welcome back to planDisney!
While it’s always subject to change, Disney World has announced that the last day to experience
Tom Sawyer Island and
Liberty Square Riverboat will be on July 6, 2025. Those attractions will be permanently closing on July 7, 2025, so that construction on the new
Piston Peak can begin.
Based on all other recent closures making way for new projects, they’ve stuck with the dates that they initially announced. So, my bet would be that those areas will not close earlier than July 6. If the date does change, it should be listed on Disney World's website or in the
My Disney Experience app under each attraction’s page.
I would expect higher-than-normal crowds at those attractions on their last day. So, if possible, I’d recommend visiting Tom Sawyer Island and Liberty Square Riverboat a bit before their last operating day if possible. That way, you can really enjoy all they have to offer.
I wish I could sneak in one more trip, so my boys could go explore Tom Sawyer Island before it closes! They’ve always loved that area. I’m so excited for you to be able to go one last time!
Enjoy every second! And let us know if you have any other questions. We’re always happy to help however we can!
