Welcome to planDisney, Monica! I'm glad you decided to put our service to the test for your upcoming vacation!
Like you, I have an incredibly picky 14-year-old son. We have not had the opportunity to dine at
Be Our Guest Restaurant for many years, and when he expressed an interest in seeing Beast's Castle during a recent trip, I was more than happy to oblige! Knowing that it is a French-inspired, prix fixe, 3-course meal, he pulled up the online menu and declared, "The only thing I'll eat is the macaroni and cheese." Mind you, my mouth was already watering, envisioning the French Onion Soup and the Center-cut Filet Mignon that I was planning to order, so this was a difficult decision to stomach (pun intended)!
Disney's rule of thumb is that Mousketeers ages ten and older must pay the adult price when ordering at a restaurant with a prix fixe menu, family-style meals, or at buffets. Your kiddos are more than welcome to choose items from the kids' menu, but you'll still be charged the higher rate. Typically, the servers will bring out a larger portion if you ask.
Ultimately, we decided to enjoy a nice dinner at nearby
Steakhouse 71 instead, where he could order a cheeseburger off the kids' menu for the listed price, so we were able to save a little bit of dough. Your mileage may vary depending on location, so I suggest chatting with your server about this option if it's a regular table service meal. I'm still trying to figure out how to sneak in for some Grey Stuff and a quick selfie with the Beast, though!
I hope this gives you some food for thought, Monica! Wherever you decide to dine, I hope it's a magical experience. Bon appétit!
