    Hi, I am traveling to Orlando in Nov.09. I am debating between staying in Kissimmee or Davenport. They are the same distance away and on Yahoo maps, they are clocking at the same travel time. Which one should be better to stay in than another for traffic?

    Hi, Christie!  You will find that much of Kissimmee is geared toured the tourist population in the Orlando area.  192, which is the main drag through Kissimmee, is packed with restaurants, souvenir shops, and motels, and the traffic can be quite congested, especially during rush hour or when the theme parks are especially busy.

    Davenport is kind of an up and coming area in Polk County, Florida.  I always feel a bit removed from the tourist trade in Davenport, and it has more of a residential feel to me than Kissimmee.  The drive from Davenport to the theme parks is probably going to take you on I-4, which might move a bit more quickly than 192, especially because you will not have traffic lights, but you need to be mindful of rush hour traffic on I-4.  Things can get quite backed up!

    If I were going to choose based on traffic alone, I would probably stay in Davenport.  It is a bit less congested and slightly removed from the tourist population.
