    Hi I have searched the boards and have not seen an answer for this question- I really love walking, but hate running. Can I walk the 5k on Castaway Cay? Thank you for your help!

    Welcome aboard, Jennifer! I'm laughing that you said you love walking but hate running, because you sound just like me last year. I used to feel the same way, but I was determined to check an official runDisney race off of my bucket list, so I began training to run the Tower of Terror 10-Miler this fall. Whew! I won't say that I love running now, but I'm doing alright. We'll see if I make it to the end of the race!

    I absolutely love the Castaway Cay offers the Castaway Cay 5K fun run on most port stops at Disney's private island. My brother ran it before and I'm excited to run it myself (now that I'm feeling more confident!) this fall when we get back to Castaway Cay. Many guests choose to walk the 5K, and that is absolutely fine! Some, like me, alternate running and walking. This is meant to be a fun run. It is not chip-timed, and there is no big party afterwards, but hey, you're on Disney's private island so it's always a party! If you choose to walk the course, simply follow the marked signs and you'll be all set! 

    Then, head over to She Sells Sea Shells where I've seen official Castaway Cay 5K shirts to show the world you've completed the course! Then it will be time to relax on the beach!
