Greg from ON Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

Hi, I am planning a trip in December and am looking to purchase my resort tickets using CDN discount offer. Will I still be able to book lighting lanes even though my tickets can’t be activated until show proof of residency? Thanks!

Well, hello there, Greg. Welcome to our friendly and informative little corner of the internet, where we answer all your Disney vacation planning questions.

Oh, the current theme park ticket offer for Canadian Residents is great! And when you get right down to it, anything that helps you visit the Most Magical Place on Earth during the Most Wonderful Time of the Year is a good thing! Now let's answer that question to help you plan the best trip ever.

I confirmed with a friendly Cast Member that you may continue to use the My Disney Experience mobile app for pre-arrival purchasing and planning of Lightning Lane Passes. That being said, you must provide the required proof of residency to scan into the theme parks and then redeem your Lightning Lanes. Otherwise, you would need to pay for a standard (non-resident) theme park ticket to enter the parks.

As a reminder, if you are staying at a Disney Resorts Collection Hotel, pre-arrival Lighting Lanes can be booked at 7 a.m. EST, seven days ahead of your arrival date. All other Guests can begin booking at 7 a.m. EST, three days ahead of the start of their theme park ticket. And there are a few other things to keep in mind when booking these passes. Here are some to get your planning started:

    • With Lightning Lane Multi Pass, you will pick one attraction from Group 1 and two attractions from Group 2 (or all three from Group 2) for all of the theme parks except Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park. For that park, you can choose any of the available experiences included in this service.
    • Each time you redeem a Lightning Lane with Lightning Lane Multi Pass, you can book another available and eligible experience. If you have a theme park ticket with the Park Hopper Option, when making additional reservations on the day of your visit, you will be able to book an experience from another park if desired and available. You can hold up to 3 Lightning Lane Multi Pass experiences at a time.
    • With Lightning Lane Single Pass, you can book up to 2 of these experiences per person, per day.
Greg, I wish you the best in getting the Lightning Lanes of your Disney dreams! If you have any other questions, feel free to reach out to me.

A dream is a wish your heart makes,
    Matt
