Hi! I booked my dining months ago but just recently, my mother in law decided she wanted to go. We got her linked up to everything except our reservation at Akershus. Will they let her sit with us even though our reservation is for 7 not 8?

Hi, Samantha! Thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

I’m so glad to hear that your plans have worked out for your mother-in-law to join you on your upcoming visit to Walt Disney World Resort. If you haven’t experienced a meal at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall in the Norway pavilion at Epcot yet, you will love it! It’s my daughter’s favorite Disney Princess Character dining experience.

To make absolutely sure your mother-in-law will be able to join your party, I would definitely recommend continuing to see if you can add her to your reservation through your My Disney Experience account. If that doesn’t work for you, reach out to a Cast Member by calling (407) WDW-DINE between 7 a.m. and 11 p.m. ET Monday through Friday and from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Akershus Royal Banquet Hall is a restaurant that does tend to fill quickly at the 180-day mark, but I have had success making last-minute reservations there on two occasions. Since you’re almost a month away from your visit, I would recommend you keep trying (even if nothing is available right now). Guests will sometimes cancel their reservations within the cancellation window, so there’s a good chance an extra seat may become available before your trip.

Enjoy your visit to Walt Disney World Resort, Samantha! Please tell the Princesses I said “hello.”
