Hi Going to Disneyland this August, from 17-23, I was wondering if we can still see anything from the 70th?, I was reading Halloween time runs from the 22nd so hoping to see the anniv stuff early in the week. Hoping for some 70th pixie dust! Carol

Welcome back to planDisney, Carolina! There’s so much excitement bubbling around Disneyland’s 70th celebration, and I recently had the chance to experience it all in person. From new entertainment to commemorative touches throughout the parks, I completely understand wanting to see it all for yourself.

As you prepare for your visit, it’s helpful to know that some of the 70th anniversary entertainment offerings at the Disneyland Resort are scheduled to pause during both the Halloween and Holiday seasons. While Disney hasn’t announced the exact date or full list of affected offerings just yet, many of the celebratory decorations are likely to vanish to make room for the frightfully fun magic of Halloween Time.

During this seasonal transformation, Disneyland comes alive with all manner of ghoulish delights. The fan-favorite nighttime spectacular, Halloween Screams, will light up the skies with projections every evening and fireworks on select nights. I would recommend keeping an eye on the Disney Parks Blog for the most current updates on the 70th celebration and its seasonal transitions.

Even with some anniversary offerings pausing, other magical elements will still be in full swing! One of my favorite touches is the set of special MagicBand+ interactions sprinkled throughout the original five lands of Disneyland. These interactive kiosks can be found in Adventureland, Frontierland, Fantasyland, and Tomorrowland. Just tap your MagicBand+ on the 70th anniversary button at each location to unveil a magical moment. Be sure to keep an eye out for limited-edition commemorative cards at some of them! Best of all, these experiences are included with your park admission.

Since your visit overlaps with the start of Halloween Time, I also want to highlight the return of Haunted Mansion Holiday beginning August 22nd. Jack Skellington and the residents of Halloween Town transform this beloved attraction into a merry (and slightly macabre) mash-up of Halloween and Christmas. It’s a can’t-miss seasonal overlay, especially if you’re a fan of The Nightmare Before Christmas. You'll also find festive décor, oversized pumpkins on Main Street, and plenty of wickedly delicious seasonal snacks.

Carolina, no matter when you visit in late August, the Disneyland Resort will have something enchanting to offer. Whether you're enjoying the glimmers of the 70th anniversary celebration or embracing the spellbinding spirit of HalloweenTime, you're in for a magical adventure.
