On a high traffic day at MK 3/20, how much time should I allow to boat ride to Kona for a 5p dinner resv? Are fireworks good at Polynesian? Where is best spot in park but not in the masses?

    Hey Jennifer!

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Mom Panel! Thank you for bringing us your questions.

You have picked a wonderful spot for dinner. Kona Café is a beautifully themed restaurant with a delicious Asian-inspired menu. The trip from the Magic Kingdom takes approximately 20 minutes from dock-to-dock. However, I suggest you allow at least 30-45 minutes just in case there are increased wait times or the crowds are difficult to navigate.

The beach at Disney's Polynesian Resort is my absolute favorite spot to watch Wishes outside of the Magic Kingdom. Not only does it have a great view, the soundtrack is piped right onto the beach. This a perfect place to grab a Dole Whip and relax in a beach chair after a long day in the parks.

If you are looking for a place inside the Magic Kingdom to watch Wishes without being shoulder-to-shoulder with a throng of people I suggest the Tomorrowland Terrace Fireworks Dessert Party. The dessert party is a specially ticketed event where you can enjoy a scrumptious dessert buffet with an uncrowded view of the Celebrate the Magic castle projections show as well as Wishes.

To get an idea of the view from Tomorrowland Terrace or the Polynesian Beach you can search Google for "Tomorrowland Dessert Party View" or "Polynesian Beach Fireworks View" and select images.

I hope this helps your planning. If you have any other questions please come back and see me.

Wishing you a magical vacation and a pixie-dusted day!
