Hi Mark, and welcome to planDisney! I’ve been coming Disney World with my nephew since he was two months old and my family loves how easy it is to visit with little ones.
Bay Lake Tower is a great place to stay since it’s so close to
Magic Kingdom. Being able to walk back for midday breaks and nap time is priceless!
When I’ve stayed in
Disney Vacation Club rooms, like the ones at Bay Lake Tower, Housekeeping has been able to bring high chairs,
cribs, and pack 'n plays. When I stayed at
Riviera Resort last month, they even let us borrow a step stool so my nephew could reach the sink to brush his teeth. I usually call Housekeeping when we get to our room, but you can also add a request to your reservation ahead of time. If you booked through Disney Vacation Club, you can contact
Member Services. For reservations made on the Disney World website, you can call the
Disney Resort Hotel Reservations and Tickets phone number. While these items are first-come-first-served, in my experience, the resorts have plenty on hand.
I also wanted to share a few things that have made navigating the theme parks with my nephew much easier!
First, the
My Disney Experience app is an invaluable tool for seeing all of the attractions your 9-month-old can ride. In the app, go to the location icon at the bottom of the screen (it looks like an upside-down teardrop). Press Attractions at the top and then you can filter by Locations (pick the theme park you're at) and Height (choose Any Height). I like to select Show List in the bottom right corner so you can easily scroll through everything that matches the criteria.
The other thing that’s been a lifesaver for us is the
Baby Care Centers in all four theme parks! We’ve used them with my nephew when we need somewhere quiet for him to chill out or eat. In these centers, you’ll find rocking or gliding chairs, a changing room with tables, a feeding area with high chairs, and a kitchenette with a microwave and sink. You can also buy any essentials you might have forgotten at home, like baby food, diapers, and wipes.
Finally, if
TRON is calling your name (or any other attractions with a height requirement!), you can use
Rider Switch to take turns while one person from your crew waits with your kiddo. Let the Cast Member at the front of the attraction know you'd like to use Rider Switch and they'll guide you through the process.
I hope you have a pixie-dusted stay at Bay Lake Tower with your little one! If you have any other questions, don’t hesitate to visit us again at planDisney.
