Hi Carin! Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney.
I'm so sorry to hear that illness has interrupted your magical plans. That does happen, and in my experience, it is always incredibly disappointing. While
special ticket offers have a limited use period stated in the terms, you are correct that Disneyland Resort standard admission tickets have incredibly generous expiration dates, and even wholly unused expired tickets can be used to purchase new tickets by paying the difference. Prices and terms are subject to change.
You can check that expiration date by opening your confirmation e-mail if that gives you peace of mind. There is a link to "Access your e-Tickets" and if you click it, you can view the ticket and see in the fine print below the ticket its expiration date. Hopefully, you're able to reschedule long before the date you see there!
You don't strictly have to cancel your current reservation. There's no penalty for not canceling a standard admission ticket's theme park reservation. However, this is a popular time of year,
availability can be limited, and if you cancel your reservation, it's there for another Guest to grab. To cancel, visit
My Theme Park Reservations and look for the "Cancel Reservation" link on the right side under each confirmed reservation. Click the link and follow the onscreen commands to cancel each reservation. Or just rest up!
But when you're ready to start dreaming of your next visit, this is also the page where you'll "Book Theme Park Reservation." At this time, Guests need both a valid admission ticket and a theme park reservation for entry. Availability is not guaranteed and some times of the year are more popular than others, so make your plans as far out as you can for the best choice of dates and your preferred park.
If you make it to the parks sometime this year, you'll find a lot to explore! Disneyland Resort is celebrating this year! Find all the
2025 Event Calendar details on the Disney Parks Blog, the official news source for the parks. They have all the fun details you need to start planning once you're feeling like yourselves again.
Get better!
