Hi! Can I cancel a reservation the day of? I woke up really sick and don’t think I can make it to the park tomorrow. Can I wait till tomorrow morning to see how I feel and make my decision? Or do I lose my ticket and need to buy a new one for future use.

Hi Azucena! Thanks for visiting planDisney.

I'm so sorry to hear that illness has gotten in the way of your festive plans. That happens sometimes. We've had family illness derail our plans as well. It's always a disappointment. But don't worry! There's no reason to drag yourself to the parks sick: standard one-day admission tickets aren't invalidated by missing your theme park reservation. Valid wholly unused tickets are good until they expire and those expirations are very generous. The exception would be special ticket offers with limited use periods stated in the terms. Even wholly unused expired tickets can be put towards the purchase of new tickets by the difference, but I don't expect you should worry about that!

You'll simply need to make a new theme park reservation. You don't even need to cancel the current one, although it will free up that reservation for another Guest if you don't intend to use it. To modify your existing reservation to a later date on the My Theme Park Reservations page, look for the "Modify Reservation" link on the right side. Click and follow the onscreen prompts to select your preferred park and date among what is currently available.

If you need to cancel today and don't know when you'll be visiting in the near future, you can click the "Cancel Reservation" link instead. Then return to this page when you're ready to "Book Theme Park Reservation" and select from what is available. Reservation availability isn't guaranteed and this is a popular time of year, but you may want to wait until you're feeling your best so you can enjoy the magic of the parks to the fullest.

There are so many exciting things to explore in the coming year that putting off your visit just a little bit won't be the worst thing! The Disney Parks Blog is the official news source for the parks, and they've announced the exciting lineup for the new year in the 2025 Event Calendar. What even sounds the most thrilling to you? I always eagerly await Season of the Force at Disneyland Resort's return. But the Lunar New Year celebration at Disney California Adventure Park is right around the corner, so you don't have long to wait!

I hope you're feeling better very soon.
